Magical potions - colour changing lemonade!

This week we refined our understanding of acids and bases and introduced how we identify what is acidic and what is basic. We made some very tasty pH indicators with Anthocyanin which changed colour as we added our acidic lemon juice! Here's some from class:


Some of our older and keen students learnt how pH indicators actually work. They learnt that they are great at picking up on Hydrogen protons (H+) and change colour to let us scientists know that lemon is, indeed, acidic!
